"Letting go" a poem Carie wrote from a growing season of her life

Letting go is hard to do
to watch your dreams die
and your spirit cry I'm through.
But letting go can be so freeing
to step back and get clearer seeing.
The passion is watered down with accusations, negativity and exasperations
but greater is He who is in me who fills me with His inspirations.
"This too shall pass" is comforting and yet is not enough.
The pain is deep and altering that creates the heart to be tough.
Letting go is what I choose
but it's God in me that helps me to let the issues loose.
I haven't mastered this quite yet although I wish it, dream it and pray to
letting go is plain old hard to do.
I press on toward the prize the higher calling from God
remembering my life is not my own but with a great price been bought.
If its a 100 or 1000 times a day
Lord take this anger, hurt and pain away
bury it, heal my heart, help me I pray.
Written by Carie Rachel Trost (Tompkins)
inspired from Philippians 3:14 my life verse
I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained. Join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.
